    Choosing a room or suite

Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino has 100 rooms and suites. Two-Queen rooms, King rooms, Junior Suites and Jetted Tub Suites each come with a mountain view or a valley view with the sunrise. A Junior Suite adds an electric fireplace. The Jetted Tub Suite has a separate bedroom with its own 43-inch TV. Its living room holds a two-person jetted tub and a 55-inch TV.

Two other suites are booked by phone, so call 403-881-2830 to ask about availability. A One Bedroom Suite has a large living room with a couch and a fireplace. It also holds a lounge chair with ottoman and a 47-inch TV. In a Family Suite, the separate bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom with shower. The living room adds a queen bed, a pull-out sofa bed and a fireplace.

    What every room has

Each room and suite includes a 47-inch TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, a microwave and a security safe. Do not pack cooking appliances of your own: the house rules ban them, except for the refrigerator supplied by the hotel. The ban covers coffee makers, kettles, hot plates, toaster ovens and rice cookers. Anyone wanting a hot drink will find free self-serve coffee and tea across the casino.

Alcohol of your own is fine for guests who are of legal age, but it must stay in the room, out of the lobby, the halls and other public areas.

    The pool and the gym

At no extra charge, resort guests have year-round use of the heated indoor pool, which features a waterslide and a hot tub and is open 9 am to 11 pm. Kids 12 and younger need supervision at all times, in the pool area and throughout the hotel. Time any late swim around the 11 pm closing, as hotel quiet hours start then too.

Inside the fitness centre are a treadmill, a stationary bike, free weights and yoga mats. The front desk can give its hours.

    Arriving and leaving

When checking in at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino, bring a passport, an ID card or a temporary residence card. A damage deposit, up to $500, is collected in cash or by credit card and returned after departure, once staff have checked the room. The hotel does not publish its check-in time, so phone the front desk to confirm. Anyone visiting you has to register at the front desk.

Check-out time is 11:00 am. Reception can extend your stay if a room is available, billed at the normal rate. When space allows, the luggage room can keep bags up to 30 days, at your own risk. A limited number of rooms accept pets, charged $25 per pet per night, with a maximum of two per room.
