Slot machines until 4 am
Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino runs more than 300 slot machines daily, starting at 10 am and stopping at 4 am. The slots keep running long after The Ridge closes at 9 pm. The main casino floor is non-smoking, and so is Sidelines Lounge.
Smokers can use a separate slot machine room with good ventilation, located behind sliding glass doors in the casino's back left corner. Coffee, tea and water are free to help yourself to anywhere in the casino. Servers at your seat sell other drinks, so you can order without leaving the machine.
Table games from 2 pm
From Monday to Sunday, table games at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino operate between 2 pm and 3 am. On offer are Blackjack, Roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold'em Poker. Neither table minimums nor the number of tables are published, so check on the floor once you arrive.
In Alberta, 18 is the legal age to gamble. Anyone who looks under 25 must have valid government-issued photo ID checked by casino staff. After dinner, carry your ID instead of leaving it in the room safe.
Weekend poker from 7 pm
No-Limit Texas Hold'em cash games are held at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino from 7 pm on Friday and Saturday nights; no end time is published. Seats, stakes and other details for the evening come from a main pit supervisor or a Games Manager. To ask ahead of your visit, call the poker and table games line at 403-881-2832 or email poker@stoneynakodaresort.com.
The Winner's Edge card
Winner's Edge is a province-wide casino loyalty program. At Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino, sign-up happens at the Winner's Edge kiosk or the guest services desk. Membership is open only to those aged 18 or older, and anyone enrolled in self-exclusion is not eligible to join. Slot machine play earns 1 point for every dollar wagered.
Points give back a little on money already spent; they are no reason to play. More useful on the card are the GameSense My Activity and Budgeting Tools. Members can use them to set limits and alerts on spending and time, either from a Winner's Edge kiosk at any casino in Alberta or through their online account. A limit chosen before dinner keeps the decision off the gaming floor.
